Intimate Apparel - Bra Fitting
For a correct bra fit follow these simple
steps:
While wearing a bra, wrap a tape measure snugly, but not tightly,
around your rib cage, under the bottom bra edge. Add 5 inches to
that measurement to determine your bra size. To determine your cup
size, measure over the fullest part of your bust. The difference
between this measurement and the size from step one will be your
proper cup size. If the difference is 1", your cup size is A; 2"=
B; 3"= C; 4"= D; 5"= DD; and 6"= DDD.

1 - Shoulder Straps
Shoulder straps support by smoothing cups from
above. Straps can be rigid, semi-stretch or all stretch. In
full-figure styles, straps may be padded for added comfort. Straps do
not raise the cups but pull up the back of the bra. If you need to
increase uplift, tightening the straps is not the answer. Try a cup
style that offers more support. To check the level of support, drop
one strap; if you lose support on that side, you're wearing the wrong
bra style.
2 - Cups
Cups should fit smoothly without wrinkles. If
the cup is not filled out - try a smaller size. If you are
experiencing overflow at the top, you may want to try a larger cup
size or a fuller shape for more coverage.

3 - Center Panel and Underbust
Band
The center panel should lie against the breast
bone without gaps between the cups. If the breast seem pulled out to
the sides or toward the center, you may need to try a larger cup size
or a different style.
4 - Sides and Back
The bottom of the bra front and back should sit
straight or slightly lower in the back. The lower edge of the band
should anchor below the shoulder blades. The lower the band sets the
more support you get. The band should be snug but not tight.
